What is
waha?

When young people know more about what it means to be a citizen of Aotearoa, together they can be louder and prouder about their place in the world. Waha is a programme aimed to enable this.

Structured over three segments, the course supports young people to find their civic voice, understand the power of collective voice, and work together to create a more caring and inclusive Aotearoa.

Educators and young people both told us it is hard for students to see the relevance of civics. Built using a co-design approach with young people, educators and lawyers, Waha aims to break down this barrier through fun, engaging material that is attractive to young people and relevant to their daily lives.
