From the first conversation two years ago, Waha is ready for the world! The journey to this point has drawn in well over 50 individuals and a dozen organisations: rangatahi, educators, designers, and justice professionals.

We have come together around a shared vision of Aotearoa New Zealand. We imagine a place where all children and young people thrive, where their rights are respected and their voices heard. But to get there, work must be done.

We are excited to share our programme of lessons, as well as an Election Special. By bringing together several resources in one package, we aim to make it easy for teachers to make the most of the 2026 General Election.

Please sign up for the newsletter and follow us on socials. This is the best way to get updates and stay connected to the kaupapa. One of the central ideas in Waha is the power of collective voice. Every voice matters in the task of making Aotearoa New Zealand a place where all children and young people thrive. We'd love to have you along for the ride.

The Waha Team.
